"My motorcycle is my best friend, there are many like it, but this one is mine".

My present bike is a Yamaha FZS1000, or otherwise known as the Fazer and on Fazer forums it is known as the Gen 1 (its the carb version of the R1 motor). The purpose of getting the thou was a wish to do some travelling in Europe and in May of this year (2009) that wish came true. You can read about it on the Rallies page. This is a very versatile bike it can be sporty and it can do the tour bit. The only fault I have with it, is that I am on tiptoe but that isn't the bikes fault is it. As you eagle eyed bikers can see in the photo I have fitted a touring  Scottoiler and fitted brackets to take a Givi top box and I have the panniers but only fit the brackets when using them. Some say the top box ruins the Fazer's 'lines' but it is a working bike and the only means of transport that I have and need it to cart stuff around with. I put some higher bars on (Renthal 756) and had to fit longer front brake hoses, but although comfortable to start with, I found them uncomfortable after the France tour so I put Renthal Ultra Lows (758) on.

After being elected to do the rep's job for MAG Cumbria I decided I needed a new bike fit for the job. The Yamaha FZS600 was the bike I got to replace the chop. Imagine the smile on my face to ride a bike that actually went round corners like they weren't there. Very versatile and could hold its own against the bigger machines. I bought this bike brand new in 2001 and loved it. The only reason I got rid of it was I thought I needed something a bit bigger for touring. A very very good midrange bike.

This is the bike that gave me my happiest times riding and meeting loads of new friends. Kawasaki VN750 a factory custom chopped to bits by me. The picture shows it in its most leanest state. I loved this bike but spent all the warm sunny days cleaning it rather than riding it. I was frequently asked why I painted it green and yellow and the answer they got was I'd never seen a bike in that colour before, there are quite a few green and yellow bikes around now. It managed to pick up three awards at rallies that I went to. I eventually painted it all matt black coz I got sick of cleaning it.

I liked it yellow and green coz it started many a conversation off at rallies.

Tried it hard tail but it hurt.

Ended up this colour.
